Jira FAQ
Jira Cloud or Jira Data Center: which one is mine?
Look at the address of your Jira. It ends in .atlassian.net: Jira Cloud. Anything else, like
https://jira.example.com: your company's own Jira, to connect as Jira Data Center.
Do I need to be a Jira administrator?
No. A personal access token (Data Center) or an API token (Cloud) is enough: it reads what its owner can see in Jira.
Why two tokens, one in Administration and one in My Account?
The administration's token reads the Jira tab of every component, the same for everyone. Your own token reads your dashboard cards: your issues, as your Jira account sees them. You connect it from the card itself. See The company's token and your own account.
Do I enter my username for Jira Data Center?
Not in the administration: the personal access token is enough. When you connect your own account (from a card, or My Account › My accounts), enter your Jira username: the form asks for it.
Can I connect two Jira?
Yes: one Jira Cloud and one Jira Data Center, each on its own card.
What does the To Review card list?
The Jira issues where you are reviewer or mentioned, as its description says. With none, it says Nothing here yet and No Jira issue is waiting for your approval. See What each Jira card shows.
Can a product owner see all the tickets of a project?
Yes. Add the JQL Query card and write project = SHOP ORDER BY updated DESC in its jql
field (replace SHOP with the key of the project): the card lists every ticket of the project that the
Jira account of the product owner can see, whoever it is assigned to. Past 1000 tickets, the card says
so. Not checked on a live instance: no Jira account was connected.
Can I write my own query?
Yes, with the JQL Query card: you write the query in its jql field when you add the card, and change it later in the card's ⋮ menu › Edit. See What each Jira card shows.
Which Jira events does Astrolabe tell me about?
The comments and status changes of your issues, and when you are assigned or unassigned: you choose in My Account › Notifications. See Get Jira notifications.
