Add your Jira issues to your dashboard

The Jira cards of My Dashboards show what your own Jira account sees. You add a card, then you connect your account from the card itself, once.

Before you start

Your administrator has connected Jira (Data Center or Cloud). Without it, the jira source is not in the list.

➕ 1. Add a card

  1. In the left sidebar, click My Dashboards, then the tab of the dashboard you want.

  2. Click Add a card, at the top of the page.

  3. In Add a card, pick the Source jira, then a Key:

    KeyWhat it lists
My Open IssuesOpen Jira issues assigned to you, most recently updated first
My SprintJira issues assigned to you in the sprint that is running, with the name of the sprint
To ReviewJira issues where you are reviewer or mentioned
JQL QueryThe issues of a JQL query you write in the jql field
  4. For JQL Query, fill in jql with a Jira search, as you would type it in Jira's advanced search. For example:

    You wantjql
All the issues of one projectproject = SHOP ORDER BY updated DESC (replace SHOP with your project key)
The open issues of one projectproject = SHOP AND statusCategory != Done ORDER BY updated DESC
The unresolved issues created this weekresolution = Unresolved AND created >= startOfWeek() ORDER BY created DESC
  5. Enter a Card Name, then click Add.

🔑 2. Connect your Jira account, in the card

The first time, the card says Your Jira account is not connected.

  1. In the card, click Connect my Jira account. The Connect my Jira account window opens. It says where to create your token, and links to the page that creates it.

  2. Create the token on that page:

    • Jira Cloud (.atlassian.net): an API token (id.atlassian.com › Security › Create and manage API tokens);
    • your company's Jira (Data Center): a personal access token (your avatar › Profile › Personal Access Tokens › Create token).

No Jira administrator right is needed.

  3. Back in the window, fill in:

FieldJira CloudYour company's Jira (Data Center)
UsernameThe e-mail of your Atlassian accountYour Jira username
TokenYour API token, pasted as isYour personal access token, pasted as is
  4. Click Test Connection. The window says Connection works: the tool accepted your token.

  5. Click Save. The window closes and every Jira card of your dashboard reads again.

✅ That's it!

Change or remove your token

Your Jira account is listed in My Account › My accounts (your avatar, top right, then My Account, then the My accounts tab). Click Configure on the Jira card to change or delete the token.
