Create an Azure DevOps token
Astrolabe reads Azure DevOps with a personal access token. The administrator enters one for the company, and each user creates one for their own dashboard cards.
This page was not checked on a live Azure DevOps organization: the rights below are the ones Astrolabe's own screens ask for.
Two tokens, two uses
| Token | Entered in | Reads Azure DevOps for |
|---|---|---|
| The company's | Administration › Company connections › Azure DevOps | The entity tabs, the catalog and Compass, the same for everyone |
| Yours | The Azure DevOps cards of My Dashboards, or My Account › My accounts | Your dashboard cards. The company token is never used for them. |
🔑 Create the token
-
In Azure DevOps, open User settings › Personal access tokens. From a dashboard card, the link Create my token on Azure DevOps takes you there.
-
Create a new token and give it these rights, all in read mode:
Token Rights The company's Code (Read) Yours Code, Project and Team, Graph, Identity and Work Items (Read) -
Copy the token as is. Azure DevOps shows it once.
✅ That's it!
