Create the Okta application

Okta needs to know Astrolabe before it talks to it. You create an application in Okta and copy two values from it.

You do it once. These steps happen in Okta. They were not checked on a live instance.

Before you start

You need the address of your Astrolabe, for example astrolabe.example.com, and the address of your Okta, for example https://example.okta.com.

🔑 Create the application

1. In the Okta admin console, open Applications, then Applications.

2. Click Create App Integration.

3. In Sign-in method, choose OIDC - OpenID Connect. In Application type, choose Web Application. Click Next.

4. In App integration name, enter Astrolabe.

5. In Sign-in redirect URIs, enter:

   https://astrolabe.example.com/api/auth/okta/handler/frame

   Replace astrolabe.example.com with the address of your Astrolabe.

6. Click Save.

7. Copy the Client ID and the Client secret.
