Authentication FAQ
Can I turn on several providers?
Yes. The sign-in page shows one button per provider, for example Continue with Auth0 and Continue with Google.
Is the username and password form still there?
Yes. It stays under Or, whichever providers you turn on. It is the way in for the administrator.
Where do I see which providers are on?
In Administration › Authentication. The active providers come first, each with a Configure button and its switch on.
How do I turn a provider off?
On its card, click Configure, then Uninstall.
Do I have to restart Astrolabe?
No. After Install, Update Configuration or Uninstall, Astrolabe restarts by itself: the screen says The configuration has changed; the server is restarting.
Why are the buttons grayed?
Without an active license, the provider buttons are grayed, with Sign-in disabled: license is not active under them. The username and password form keeps working. See Common problems with sign-in.
Where do I create the other accounts?
Not in Astrolabe: people sign in with the account they have at their provider.
What do I give the provider?
The address Astrolabe shows in the ? next to Client ID, <Astrolabe address>/api/auth/<provider>/handler/frame,
where <provider> is google, auth0, okta or atlassian.
