Create the Google OAuth client

Google needs to know Astrolabe before it lets people sign in. You create an OAuth client in Google Cloud and copy two values from it.

You do it once. These steps happen in Google Cloud. They were not checked on a live instance.

Before you start

You need the address of your Astrolabe, for example astrolabe.example.com.

πŸ”‘ Create the client

  1. In the Google Cloud console, open APIs & Services, then Credentials.

  2. Click Create credentials, then OAuth client ID.

  3. In Application type, choose Web application.

  4. In Name, enter Astrolabe.

  5. Under Authorized redirect URIs, click Add URI and enter:

    https://astrolabe.example.com/api/auth/google/handler/frame

Replace astrolabe.example.com with the address of your Astrolabe.

  6. Click Create.

  7. Copy the Client ID and the Client secret.

βœ… That's it!

Next: Add Google sign-in.
