Set the mail server

Astrolabe sends some messages by e-mail. Give it the mail server to use.

You do it once, as an administrator.

Before you start

Ask your mail provider for the host, the port, an account and its password. The server must offer a secure connection (STARTTLS): port 587 usually does.

🔧 Fill in the mail server

1. In the left sidebar, at the bottom, click Administration. The General page opens.

2. At the top of the page, click the Mail server tab.

3. Fill in the form:

   Field	What to enter	Example
   Host	The address of the mail server	smtp.acme.example
   Port	The port of the mail server, usually 587	587
   User	The account used to sign in to the mail server	astrolabe@acme.example
   Password	The password of that account
   From	The address the messages are sent from	astrolabe@acme.example

4. Click Save.

5. In the banner The configuration has changed., click Reload.

✅ That's it!

To see the settings at work, reset the administrator password: the code arrives in the administrator mailbox.
