Set the log level

Astrolabe's logs keep, by default, what the plugins report, what each user does, the warnings and the errors. One line per request is left out. Raise the level to look for a problem, lower it to keep only what goes wrong.

You do it as an administrator.

📜 Choose the level

  1. In the left sidebar, at the bottom, click Administration. The General page opens.

  2. At the top of the page, click the Logs tab.

  3. In Log level, choose the level.

    LevelWhat the logs keep
    errorThe errors only.
    warnThe errors and the warnings.
infoAlso what the plugins report and what each user does. The default.
    debugAlso one line per request.
  4. Click Save. The message Settings saved. appears at the bottom left of the screen and goes away on its own.

The new level applies within a few seconds, without a restart.

✅ That's it!

tip

To retrace what a user did, keep info or debug: each page, click and change they made is written to the logs, with who made it. Look for their address in the logs.

Troubleshooting

The Log level field cannot be changed

Under the field, the screen says Set when Astrolabe starts, not on this screen. The level is written in a configuration file of the server, which wins over the screen. Ask whoever runs your Astrolabe server to change it there; on an instance hosted by ForgeIT, write to support@forgeit.fr.

The next step: Go back to an earlier configuration.
