GitLab FAQ
Why is there no GitLab tab on my component?
Because it has no gitlab.com/project-slug annotation, or the GitLab plugin is off. Astrolabe does
not deduce the project from where the component was registered: add the annotation. See
Show the GitLab tab.
Do the dashboard cards show my own merge requests?
Yes, among others: the Merge Requests card shows every merge request of the projects of the catalog that your token reads, and its column My role tells which ones are yours. Filter on it to keep them: see What each GitLab card shows. Your own token must be saved in My Account › My accounts: each user sees what their own GitLab account sees. Without it, the cards say Your GitLab account is not connected.
Can a product owner see all the merge requests of the team?
Yes. Add the Merge Requests card: it lists every merge request of the projects of the catalog that the token of the product owner can read, whoever opened them. Not checked on a live instance (no GitLab connected).
Which token rights does Astrolabe need?
read_api and read_repository, for the administrator's token as for yours. Astrolabe only reads
GitLab.
Why is a card empty while I have projects on GitLab?
Because a card reads the projects of the components of your catalog that carry the
gitlab.com/project-slug annotation, and only what is recent: the last pipeline of each branch when it
failed or ran lately, the merge requests of the projects of the catalog, the last release. Add the annotation to the
component: see Show the GitLab tab. The empty card says which condition is missing,
in the sentence under Nothing here yet: see
What each GitLab card shows.
Do the cards show every project of my GitLab?
No, only the projects of the components in your catalog that name their project with the annotation, and that your token can read.
What does the To-Do List card show?
The pending to-dos of your own GitLab account: reviews requested, assignments, mentions, broken builds. With none pending, it says No pending to-do on GitLab. A card with to-dos in it was not checked on a live instance.
Who is told when a pipeline fails?
You choose in My Account › Notifications: see Get GitLab notifications.
