Create a GitLab token

Astrolabe reads GitLab with a personal access token. You need one for the administrator, and each user creates one for their own dashboard cards.

๐Ÿ”‘ Create the tokenโ€‹

  1. In GitLab, open your user settings, then Access tokens, and add a new token.

  2. Tick read_api and read_repository, pick an expiration date, and create the token.

  3. Copy the token as is: a string starting with glpat-.

A dedicated account for the administrator's token

Every user reads the GitLab tab through it, and it only sees the projects of its account. Use an account dedicated to Astrolabe rather than a person's account.

โœ… That's it!

Next: Add the GitLab integration.
