Create a SonarQube token in 2 minutes

Astrolabe reads SonarQube with a user token. You create it once, in SonarQube.

How to​

1. Log in with the right user​

Log in to SonarQube with the user Astrolabe will read with. Astrolabe sees exactly the projects this user can browse.

Use a dedicated user

Create a SonarQube user named astrolabe, with the Browse permission on your teams' projects. Astrolabe keeps working when people leave.

2. Generate the token​

  1. Top right, click your avatar, then My Account.
  2. Open the Security tab.
  3. Under Generate Tokens, fill in:
    • Name: Astrolabe
    • Type: User Token
    • Expires in: the date of your choice
  4. Click Generate.

3. Copy the token​

Copy the token right away: SonarQube shows it only once.

Write down the expiry date

Put it in your calendar. That day, generate a new token and paste it in the integration.
