Jenkins FAQ

Where do I enter my Jenkins?

Only in the integration: Administration › Company connections › Jenkins. See Add the Jenkins integration.

Which token?

A Jenkins API token of a user who can read your jobs. See Create a Jenkins API token. Not the password of the user.

Who sees the builds?

Anyone who can open the component. Astrolabe reads Jenkins with the user and the token of the integration, the same for every reader.

The tab is missing on a component. Why?

The tab only exists on a component annotated jenkins.io/job-full-name, when the Jenkins plugin is turned on. See Show the Jenkins tab.

I have several Jenkins. How does a component pick one?

By the start of its annotation: jenkins.io/job-full-name: prod:shop-api reads the job shop-api from the integration whose Jenkins instance key is prod. See Show the Jenkins tab.

Can a component show several jobs?

Yes: write their full names separated by a comma, on the same Jenkins. See Show the Jenkins tab.

Which components does a card show?

Every component of the catalog that carries the jenkins.io/job-full-name annotation, whoever owns it. Filter the column Mine to keep yours. See Add the Jenkins cards to your dashboard.

Do I need my own token for the cards?

No. The cards read Jenkins with the user and the token of the integration, like the tab.

Can I show a job that is in a folder?

Yes: write the folders and the job separated by /, for example shop/shop-api.
