Create a Jenkins API token
Astrolabe reads Jenkins with a Jenkins user name and its API token. You create the token once, in Jenkins.
Pick the Jenkins userβ
The token has the rights of its user. Astrolabe only sees the jobs this user can see.
Use a dedicated user
Create a Jenkins user for Astrolabe, for example astrolabe, that can read the jobs of your teams.
Your own account works too, but Astrolabe stops working the day you leave.
π Create the tokenβ
-
Log in to Jenkins with this user.
-
Top right, click the user name.
-
In the left menu, click Security.
-
Under API Token, click Add new token.
-
In Name, write
Astrolabe, then click Generate. -
Copy the token now. Jenkins says: Copy this token now, because it cannot be recovered in the future. Then click Done.
β That's it!
Next: Add the Jenkins integration.
