See a component's tech stack

The Tech stack tab tells you what the repository of a component declares: its languages, the version of its runtime, its Docker base image and its dependencies. You read it branch by branch, without opening the repository.

Before you start

  • The Tech stack plugin is on. An administrator turns it on in Administration β€Ί Plugins: see Turn on a plugin.
  • The component is in the catalog and points at its repository. The repository host has an integration in Administration β€Ί Company connections.

πŸ”Ž Open the tab

  1. In the top bar, click Catalog.

  2. In the list, click the name of your component, for example my-web-app.

  3. Click the Tech stack tab.

  4. Under Branches, main (default) is ticked. The page shows Tech stack of main, and under it Analysed on a date: the branch is read again at each new commit.

πŸ“– Read the blocks

BlockWhat it lists
LanguagesEach language of the repository, with its share, for example TypeScript 27 %
Language versionsThe version of each runtime, for example Node.js
Base imageThe images of the Dockerfile, for example node:22, marked build stage or final image
DependenciesThe packages of each file, for example @acme/core 3.2.0, under declared in web/package.json

A version is shown as it is written in the file: ^18.3.1 stays ^18.3.1.

🧩 See which components use your package

Under the blocks, Used by β€” the components that declare a package published by this repository lists the components that depend on a package this repository publishes. It is read on the default branch of each component.

Astrolabe reads this once a day, at night. Until the first night has passed, the section says The nightly snapshot has not run yet: it runs every 24 hours. Come back the next day.

A list with components in it was not checked on a live instance.
