Fix a component whose owner is not found
A component names its owner in its catalog-info.yaml. When the catalog does not hold that owner,
nobody owns the component and it counts for no team. Problems lists it, so that you do not have to
open the components one by one.
🔍 Find the components
-
In the left sidebar, at the bottom, click Administration.
-
Under STATUS, click Problems.
-
Find the block marked Catalog. Its title is the name the catalog does not find, for example
group:gitlab/does-not-exist.
The sentence under it counts the components, for example:
2 components name an owner missing from the catalog: group:gitlab/does-not-exist.
Under the sentence, each component is a link. Several components that name the same missing owner are one block.
✏️ Correct the owner
-
Click a component of the block. On its page, in About, OWNER shows the name it writes.
-
In GitLab, correct
spec.ownerin thecatalog-info.yamlof the component. To build the right name, follow Give a component its GitLab owner. -
In Administration › Catalog, in the Catalog collection table, click Run the GitLab projects collection now (or Run the GitLab collection now when GitLab groups are not imported).
-
Back on Problems, click Check again.
The block goes away when no component names the missing owner any more.
