Turn on Polaris

Polaris is the conversational assistant of Astrolabe. It has a page of its own, where each user asks questions and keeps their conversations.

You set it up once, as an administrator.

Before you start

Polaris answers through an AI server. You need its address, and the bearer token that server expects.

πŸ”Œ Turn on the plugin

  1. In the left sidebar, at the bottom, click Administration.

  2. Under PLATFORM, click Plugins.

  3. On the Polaris card, click the switch Enable Polaris. The card now says Needs configuration, and Polaris appears in the left sidebar.

πŸ”§ Give Polaris its AI server

  1. On the Polaris card, click Configure. The Settings page opens. It says Still waiting for: IP address, Token.

  2. Fill in the form:

    FieldWhat to enterExample
IP addressThe host of the AI server, without http:// or https://. Astrolabe pastes it into https://<host>:8443. An address or a name.ai.example.com
TokenThe bearer token the AI server expects. It stays in Astrolabe: the browser never talks to the AI server.
  3. Click Save. The message Settings saved. appears at the bottom left of the screen and goes away by itself. The page says The configuration has changed.

  4. Click Reload. The page says This plugin is configured.

βœ… That's it!

Next: Ask Polaris a question.
