AI resources FAQ
Does Astrolabe run my skills, agents or scripts?
No. Astrolabe reads the files of the repositories you declare, indexes them and displays them. It does not run them and does not check them: the page of each resource says so. The scripts, hooks and MCP servers it finds are listed under What it could run, so you can read them before you install.
Why is there no version number on a resource?
A resource is identified by its repository and its path, and Astrolabe shows the Commit it read. The command of Install is pinned to that commit: you install exactly the version you read.
Why does a runbook have no score?
No public good practice exists for runbooks, so Astrolabe does not invent checks. Skills, agents and rules are scored: see The quality score of AI resources.
How often are the repositories read?
On the schedule an administrator sets, and each time someone clicks Read the repository again or Run now: see Manage AI resources.
Where does the owner of a resource come from?
From the spec.owner of the repository's catalog-info.yaml. A repository without owner publishes
nothing, and says so on its tab AI resources: see Troubleshooting.
