Run a catalog collection now

A provider collects your catalog by itself on a schedule (every 30 minutes for GitLab). You don't want to wait? Start its collection yourself, and follow it on the same screen.

You do it as an administrator.

▶️ Start one collection

  1. In the left sidebar, at the bottom, click Administration.

  2. Under PLATFORM, click Catalog. The Providers tab opens. Above the cards, the table Catalog collection has one row per collection:

    ColumnWhat it says
ProviderThe provider. GitLab has two rows once you import groups: GitLab (the projects) and GitLab (groups and users).
    StateDone, Running, Failed or Unknown.
Last run / Next runWhen it last ran, when it runs next.
    DetailWhat happened, in a sentence.
ActionsThe play button of the row.
  3. On the row you want, in the Actions column, click the play button. For the projects of GitLab, its name is Run the GitLab projects collection now. For the groups and the users, it is Run the GitLab groups and users collection now.

Only the collection of that row starts. The other row stays as it was: the play of GitLab does not start GitLab (groups and users), and the other way round.

👀 Follow it

You don't reload the page.

  1. The State of the row you started turns to Running at once, and its Detail shows a dash (—).

  2. After a few seconds, the State turns to Done. Last run shows the time of this run, Next run the next one, and Detail says what came in, for example 3 catalog files found. For the row of the groups, for example 3 groups and 1 user imported.

The entities of the collection are now in Catalog.

✅ That's it!
